7 killed in Ahmedabad-Vadodara expressway accident
Vadodara, Nov 25 (UNI) Seven people, including six members of a family, were killed and two others seriously injured, when their jeep rammed into a truck on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara expressway near Ahmedabad early today.
The Ahmedabad-based family, was on its way to offer a special puja at the pilgrim town of Chandod, located on the bank of river Narmada, about 55 km from here, when the accident occurred at Devki Vansol village in Nadiad district, nearly 30 km away from Ahmedabad.
Police said driver of the jeep Sankar Wankhede, who was speeding the vehicle, reportedly dashed against the truck from behind because of poor visibility due to heavy fog and died ont he spot.
All the seven, including three women, breathed their last on the spot, while the two injured were shifted to Ahmedabad civil hospital after being given first-aid at Nadidad, police said.
The other deceased were indentified as Vikram Sinolo (30), Ramesh Sinolo (56), Uttam Sinolo (27), Vandanaben Sinolo (25), Tejuben Sinolo (65) and Kanchanben Sinolo (45).
