13-year-old girl raped in Central Mumbai

Mumbai, Nov 25: A 13-year-old girl was raped, allegedly by a 21-year-old youth, on the pretext of marriage.

Police said the victim and the youth, Samad Khan Soyal Khan, were staying in the neighbourhood at Sewri cross road in south-central Mumbai.

On November 11, the accused took the victim to Haji Malang at Ambernath in neighbouring Thane district on the pretext of marrying her. There, he raped her and then took her to Vaibhavwadi in the Sindhudurg district, where he again raped her.

The victim's father, Gafar Khan, lodged a missing person complaint with the Kidwai marg police, who swung into action and nabbed Khan from Sindhudurg.

They brought the girl and the accused here on Monday, Nov 24 and lodged a rape complaint against him, they added.
