Lok Satta constitutes Election Authority

Hyderabad, Nov 24 (UNI) The Lok Satta party today announced constitution of an independent Election Authority to conduct internal party elections from the village to the state level by secret ballot, with retired Inspector General of Police V Ramachandraiah as its Chairman.

In a statement, party president Jayaprakash Narayan said the Lok Satta, unlike other parties in the country, had opted for such a mechanism to ensure total internal democracy in party functioning.

The other members of the authority are Prof K Madhusudhana Rao, M N Roy, Annapurna, P S Bhagavanlu, Venumadhava Swamy and M Satyanarayana. The election schedule would be announced soon, the statement added.
