Bomb threat call turns a hoax
Vijayawada, Nov 24 (UNI) An anonymous call threatening that a bomb was planted at the Narayana Intermediate College here today turned out to be a hoax.
Police said the anonynamous caller rang up 108(toll free service) number and informed that a bomb had been planted in the college and it could go off at any moment. 108 staff informed the police control room about the bomb threat.
Bomb disposal teams and a dog squad under the supervision of Krishna Lanka and Machvaram Circle Inspector rushed to the spot and conducted search in the college for about one hour by evecuating the students and staff.
However, the bomb threat turned out to be a hoax as police did not find explosive materials from the college building.
