Former Speaker of Bihar Assembly injured in road accident
Patna, Nov 23 (UNI) Former Speaker of Bihar Assembly Shiv Chandra Jha was seriously injured after being hit by a speeding motorcycle during his morning walk at Bhagalpur town, about 250 km from here today.
Bihar Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ramashray Prasad Singh informed that Mr Jha was rushed to a nearby hospital. Later, he was brought here for further treatment at the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).
In view of the seriousness of his condition, Mr Jha would be taken to New Delhi for better treatment by air later tonight or tomorrow, Mr Singh added.
A former Congress Legislator, Mr Jha was the Speaker of Bihar Assembly from 1985 to 1990.
