YSR promises 10 lakh jobs in two years

Hyderabad, Nov 22 (UNI) Giving top priority for employment generation, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today promised to create 10 lakh more jobs in the next two years through the Rajiv Udyogasree scheme.

Under the scheme, job-oriented training was already provided to 6.72 lakh youth and jobs to over 4.67 lakh of them, a release said here.

As many as 25 lakh jobs would be created in the state through the 94 Special Economic Zones (SEZs) coming up in the state, he said, adding, already 55,000 jobs had been created in the SEZs so far.

A high-level meeting, chaired by the Chief Minister, took an important decision to increase the age limit for those applying for teachers post under the general category to 39 years and to 44 years for the candidates belonging to the Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Before the end of this month, notification would be issued for filling up 50,063 teachers posts through the District Selection Committees (DSC), the release added.
