Two cars hijacked, driver shot dead in Noida
Noida, Nov 22 (UNI) Two cars were robbed and a driver was killed in two separate incidents of carjacking in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh last night.
Senior police official, SSP R K Chaturvedi, today said some miscreants asked for a lift from a Delhi-based call centre car near Sector 37 traffic light signal. After boarding the car, they shot the driver, Kailash (36), who died on the spot. The criminals then escaped in the car with the driver's mobile and other belongings, he added.
Kailash was a resident of Tigri in Faridabad, Haryana, and was returning to Delhi after leaving the employees of the call centre in Noida.
Mr Chaturvedi said in another incident of carjacking, some miscreants robbed at gunpoint an engineer Dinesh Kumar, working in a Noida-based company, at the Sadullapur railway crossing in Dadri area.
The SSP has directed the police officials to solve both the cases with 24 hours, failing which, action would be taken against them.
