Annamacharya trust to perform maha yagnam
Tirupati, Nov 21 (UNI) For the victory of the Congress in the state and at the Centre in the ensuing elections, Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya Mission Trust (TAMT) would organize a five-day maha Yagnam at Shamshabad in Hyderabad from January 17, next year.
Talking to newspersons here today, Trust Chairman Nayuni Babaiah Swamy said the yagnam would be organised jointly by Y S Jagan Yuva Sena and Annamacharya Mission.
He said the Congress government had taken several measures for the development of temples in the state apart from provision of Rs 5,000 monthly honorarium to 12 heirs of Annamayya, the saint-poet.
The government had also taken steps to develope 'Talapaka,' the birth place of the sanit-poet Annamayya, who composed 32,000 keertans on lord Venkateswara Swamy, and implementation of several schemes for welfare of the archakas in the state, he added.
