Bangalore, Nov 20 (UNI) Suzuki Motor Corporation, the mother company of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL), will tie up for contract manufacturing for Nissan Motor of Japan in India.

Nissan has planned to manufacture its cars in the emerging markets, which it has already done in Thailand. In India, it had chosen MSIL for the purpose and plans to manufacture a model from its portfolio.

Speaking to reporters after the launch of Maruti's new compact car A-star, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd Executive Officer (marketing and sales) Mayank Pareek said the terms and conditions were being negotiated and it would be finalised within two weeks.

''The agreement will be signed in the first quarter of 2009,'' he said.
