PSI held while accepting Rs 1,000 bribe
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Nov 19 (UNI) A police sub-inspector (PSI), attached to Cidco Police Station here, was arrested by the officials of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from a criminal.
PSI Yedusingh Gulabsingh Salunke was caught yesterday following a complaint by Vishnu Damu Chavan, a criminal, police said today.
A case of robbery was registered against Chavan with Cidco Police Station few days ago. He was arrested and later released on bail. He met Salunke in connection with the case. But, PSI threatened to initiate action against Chavan under section 110 of Indian Penal Code and demanded a bribe of Rs 1,000 if he wanted to avoid the action.
Then, Chavan lodged a complaint with the ACB, whose officials laid a trap and caught the PSI red-handed while accepting the bribe, they added.
