New Delhi couple meets with accident; groom, driver dead

Mandi, Nov 19 (UNI) A car carrying a newly Wed couple from New Delhi fell into Beas river on way to tourist resort of Manali, killing the groom and the driver on the spot while the woman was seriously injured.

The couple, apparently on a honeymoon trip, were on way to Manali from Shimla when the car rolled into Beas river on NH-21 towards Pandoh, 6 km from here.

Some passersby informed the police which rushed to the spot and took the injured woman to Regional Hospital Mandi. Her situation was reported to be serious.

The bodies were later taken out from the river.

Police said the cause of the accident was yet to be ascertained.
