Mercury further dips in HP

Shimla, Nov. 19 (UNI) Mercury further plunged in Himachal Pradesh as cold wave swept the tribal areas of the state today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures decreased by two to three degrees in the state. Chilly weather conditions forced people to remain indoors.

The Minimum settled at 8.0 degrees at Shimla, 4.0 degrees at Sundernagar, 3.2 degrees at Bhuntar, 5 degrees at Una, 9 degrees at Dharmsala and minus 1.5 degrees at Kalpa.

State authorities have warned people and tourists not to venture for 13050-foot high Rohtang pass in view of snowy weather conditions having developed in the region. Police posts have been set up at Maddi and Kokssar across the Pass.

The Met office has forecast rain and snow at isolated places in thestate in the next 24 hrs.
