Glowing tributes paid to Indira Gandhi in Pondy

Puducherry, Nov 19: Floral tributes were paid to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 91st birth anniversary here on Wednesday, Nov 19.

Puducherry Chief Minister V Vaithilingam, his cabinet collegues, legislators and senior officials of the territorial administration were among others, who garlanded the statue of Indira Gandhi at Ellapillaichavady.

Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee president A V Subramanian and party office-bearers also garlanded the statue to mark the occasion.

Earlier, glowing tributes were paid to a decorated portrait of Indira Gandhi at the PCC office in which Mr Subramanian, Chief Minister V Vaithilingam, his Cabinet collegues and party functionaries participated.

Office-bearers of the Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) paid rich tributes to a decorated portrait of the first woman Prime Minister at the party office on the occasion.
