Dead body creates panic in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 19 (UNI) Panic gripped Shalteang area of city when a dead body was found in a canal this morning, official sources said.

Police was informed by some local residents as hundreds of people gathered at Shaltean, 10 km from here on Srinagar-Uri road, they said, adding that the body was taken away by the police.

The deceased was later identified as 40-year-old Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Zaldagar in the down town.

Police have registered a case and started investigation, they said.
