16 ultras arrested, arms recovered in J'khand
Hazaribagh, Nov 19 (UNI) In a major breakthrough security forces arrested 16 ultras of Sashastra People's Morcha (SPM), a breakaway faction of the proscribed CPI (Maoist), from an area located between Bhuragadha and Karga area under Chouparan police station in the district today.
Superintendent of Police Praveen Kumar Singh told reporters here that acting on a tip-off, a team of security forces, comprising jawans from Central Reserve Police Force, Special Task Force and district police, raided the area and arrested the ultras after an encounter which lasted for about 20 minutes.
Mr Singh said that about 15 firearms, including an SLR, two carbines, six 3.5 rifles, a double barrel gun and about 320 live cartridges were recovered from them.
Besides these, naxal literature and four mobile phones were recovered, Mr Singh said.
