Prism scans election manifestoes
Aizawl, Nov 18 (UNI) Voluntary watchdog Prism (Peoples Right to Information and Development Implementing Society of Mizoram) has scanned the election manifestoes of the major political parties.
The review meeting that consisted of professionals, economists and intellectuals held here last week found that some of the manifestoes would be difficult to implement.
Prism president Vanlalruata said that his organisation would continue to if the party which comes to power implement its pre-poll promises. He also stressed that people must be educated towards the need for implementation of the election manifestos.
Political parties had sold election manifestoes for formality's sake. Neither had they bothered to implement these when they came to power nor did the people remember the manifestoes promised to them, Vanlalruata said.
Meanwhile, Prism is all set to release a booklet 'Lepsena', a scanner on the MLA candidates of the three major parties - ruling Mizo National Front, opposition Congress and United Democratic Alliance. The booklet will be released on November 20.
