Washington, November 18 : Paula Abdul's alleged stalker, who was found dead in her car near the singer's home, may have died due to an overdose of prescription drugs, say reports.

The body of Paula Goodspeed, who had been an unsuccessful contestant on the 5th season of 'American Idol', was discovered near the reality competition judge's home in Sherman Oaks, California on November 11.

The police had earlier hinted that the 'obsessed' 30-year-old might have died from a drug overdose and as per recent reports on TMZ.com, "multiple prescription bottles" have been found on her body.

Godspeed had apparently been infatuated with Abdul after her audition for the show in January 2006 - the same time when she is said to have overdosed, reports Contactmusic.

Meanwhile, Abdul has dismissed rumours claiming that she had refused to return to her LA residence following the incident because she feared Goodspeed was "haunting her house".

Her rep told the New York Post, "She's been home since the incident happened. There's no issue with spirits. Paula is shocked and saddened by what transpired. Her heart and prayers go out to the Goodspeed family."
