MMK volunteers held for defying prohibitory orders
Tiruchirapalli, Nov 18 (UNI) Hundreds of volunteers of Muvendar Munnetra Kazhagam (MMK), including state vice-president Captain Natarajan were taken into custody when they attempted to defy the prohibitory orders to observe a day-long fast at the busy Anna statue area in the city today.
The fast was to protest against the inefficiency of police to control the recent clash between two groups of law students on the premises of Dr Ambedkar Law College in Chennai, Captain Natarajan said.
Demanding immediate arrest of those involved in the clash and the mastermind behind the incident, they condemned the alleged attempt to attack AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa at Pasumpon in Ramanathapuram district recently.
