Law student jumps into Sukhna, ends life

Chandigarh, Nov 18 (UNI) A final year law student of a college in Sirhind in Punjab today allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Sukhna Lake here.

Police sources said that the student took the extreme step while boating alongwith a girl.

Intial reports stated that he jumped into the lake after a telephonic conversation with another girl, with whom he wanted to tie the nuptial thread.

The police had taken the girl who had accompanied the deceased on the boating trip, into custody and are questioning her. Efforts are being made to fish out the body of the student.
