Accident in RSP: One dead,3 injured

Rourkela, Nov 18 (UNI) One person died and three others were injured after the pasted mud collapsed in the steel melting shop-II of the Rourkela Steel Plant(RSP) during the platform expansion work.

Steel plant sources identified the deceased as Baburam Badaik.

Sources said all the four were rushed to the Ispat General Hospital after the accident.

While Baburam died on the way to the hospital, three other labourers were undergoing treatment.

The work was being done by the National Building Construction Corporation through a sub-contractor when the accident occurred.

Rourkela Thika Shramika Sangha, affiliated to HMS, president Gopal Das demanded job to a member of the deceased in the RSP, adequate compensation to the family members and free treatment to the injured.

He also demanded strict action against the contractor and the sub-contractor for their alleged negligence.
