3 fined for smoking in train
Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Nov 18 (UNI) Three people were caught red-handed while smoking in the trains and Rs 600 were collected as fine from them in Bilaspur division of South East Central Railway, railway sources said today.
A total of Rs 9,882 were collected as fine in 66 cases of defaults.
Under a checking campaign launched under the supervision of Assistant Commercial Manager V K Ramanna, Rs 4,607 has been collected in 17 cases of travelling without ticket, Rs 2,985 in 9 cases of improper ticket and Rs 1,690 in 37 cases of carrying luggage without booking.
A 10 per cent rise in ticket purchasing has been recorded after the drive in Bilaspur-Raigarh section, sources added.
