29 injured in bus-container collision
Mumbai, Nov 18 (UNI) At least 29 people including ten women and a three-year-old child sustained injuries when the state road transport bus in which they were travelling was hit from behind by a heavy container vehicle in Khopoli in Raigad district of Maharashtra today.
The injured have been admitted to the nearby MGM hospital, where the condition of nine was stated to be critical.
The accident occured this evening when the bus was heading towards Mumbai and was hit by a heavy container vehicle from the rear at the exit point of the old National Highway number 4.
Both the vehicles were badly damaged due to the impact of the collision, police sources said.
A case of rash driving has been registered against Nitin Devkar, the driver of the container, who also sustained injuriues in the mishap, by the Khopoli police.
