Uma wants Sadhvi Pragya to contest Lok Sabha polls

Guna, MP, Nov 17 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) President Uma Bharti today said she was considering fielding Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, who has been arrested in connection with Malegaon blast, against Congress President Sonia Gandhi during Lok Sabha elections.

However, Ms Bharti told reporters here that this could be considered only if she was acquitted by the court.

Although she had not met Sadhvi Pragya since a long time, Ms Bharti said she knew her very closely and that she could not do anything wrong. She expressed suspicion that the sadhvi was victim of some conspiracy.

Taking a dig at the poll manifesto released by the BJP yesterday, she asked how the BJP could be relied upon when it failed to provide power during the past four years. She said people were fed up with the BJP and it would realise it after assembly polls.
