Shoot-at-sight order issued in Madurai

Madurai, Nov 17 (UNI) Shoot-at-sight orders were issued against persons indulging in violence here, City Police Commissioner K Nanda Balan said today.

In an informal chat with reporters at Goripalayam, near here, he said in view of the recent violent incidents in the aftermath of the law college students clash in Chennai, shoot-at-sight orders were issued against those who indulged in violence.

He warned that miscreants who damage public property and buses would be booked under the Goondas Act.

Four buses were damaged and one bus was completely burnt in the city following the law college violence, he added.
