Sheila's rally: Action recommended against police officials

New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) The Delhi Election Commission has recommended action against police personnel in connection with Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's rally at Uttamnagar in West Delhi yesterday.

Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Satbir Sylas Bedi said Ms Dikshit's rally was cancelled and related material impounded as supporters accompanying her blocked a road while canvassing for her.

According to the Model Code of Conduct, a candidate's supporters cannot disrupt normal life while electioneering.

The action against the police officials was recommended as they allowed the canvassing in gross violation of the Model Code of Conduct, Ms Bedi added.
