Non-announcement of CM candidates by Cong ''undemocratic''
Raipur, Nov 17 (UNI) BJP's prime Minister in-waiting Lal Krishna Advani today attacked the Congress on non-announcement of Chief Minister candidates in the assembly elections and said that it is an 'unhealthy' democratic traditions.
''Mr Advani said the voters have all the right to know who will lead them if the party comes to power. It is a healthy democratic norms to name the CM candidate before the campaigning and if required Election Commission should hold debate among these candidates so that people know their vision'', he said.
Addressing an election meeting here tonight, Mr Advani said non announcement of CM candidates by the Congress shows that their is no democracy within the party and people were likely to get such CM whom people don't want.
'' BJP had already announced CM candidates-- Dr Raman Singh in Chhattisgarh, Sivraj Singh Chauhan in Madhya Pradesh, Vijay Kumar Mahlotra in Delhi and Ms Vashundhara Raje Scindhia in Rajasthan-- so that people can judge them from their work and vote in their favour if they think the leaders have worked honestly in the state'', the BJP leader said.
Putting an example of the one-dayer match going on between India and England when both skippers lead their teams, the BJP leader said in politics too a team is incomplete without a captain.
He further criticised the Congress to insult the Prime Minister's post santity.'' In democracy Prime Minister is the supreme power but in India, 10 Janpath is more powerful than the 7, Race Course'', he said.
Talking about the committment of the BJP, he said the party was responsible for creation of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand states thus fulfilling the long pending demands of the people of these region.'' I have a great attachment with these new states as I was the person to take the decision for them as Home Minister in the NDA government'', he said.
Mr Advani, however, said that even after promising, Congress ditched the people of Telengana in Andhra Pradesh on the seperate state issue.
Appealing to the people of Chhattisgarh to vote in favour of BJP, he said Dr Raman Singh honestly worked for the people and now the voters to give him a second chance.
