No objection to use of FM channels in poll campaign:EC
New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) The Election Commission (EC) today clarified that it had no objection to political parties making use of the FM channels to broadcast their views.
Deputy Election Commissioner R Bhattacharya told newspersons that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had sought the EC's views on the issue.
The EC, in its reply, had informed the Ministry that it had no objection, provided the Ministry change the programme broadcast code. The ministry had not yet acted upon that.
Once the ministry changed the code, then only the EC would come into the picture on how best it could be implemented, he said.
