{image-L&T logo_17112008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Mumbai, Nov 17: Indian engineering and construction major Larsen&Toubro (L&T) has secured a major order worth Rs 700 crore from HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL), a joint venture of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Mittal Energy Investments.

The order was bagged by the chemical plants business unit of L&T's engineering and construction division. Secured against competition from the global engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors, the HMEL order augments L&T's long track record in the mid- and downstream hydrocarbon sector.
