Jet gets approval for area navigation

New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) Jet Airways has become the first airline in the country to obtain regulatory approval to undertake performance-based navigation and conduct RNP 0.3 approaches at applicable airfields, which will allow it to use air space better.

''This is proof of our greater commitment to safety of operations,'' Jet Airways CEO Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said in a statement.

The procedures will enable optimistion of airspace, reduce dependency on routes based on ground navigation aids and cut down distance between two airborne aircrafts, without compromising safety standards.

Jet Airways has trained its pilots to operate these procedures, the statement said.
