First paediatrics AIDS counselling progamme

Imphal, Nov 17 (UNI) A first of its kind training programme on "Pae- diatrics AIDS counselling" in the country was inaugurated today by L Fimate, Director, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences here.

The two-day programme is being organised by the Department of Psychiatrics, RIMS and supported by Manipur AIDS Control Society and UNICEF.

The participants from Assam(7) and Manipur(15) include both the doctors and counsellors.Besides three doctors from Kalawati hospital, Delhi are also participating in the programme.

Speaking on the occasion Prof. Fimate said that it is a matter of concern that the menace like AIDS spread among the children.

He expressed his happiness that RIMS was selected as the training centre for such programmes.

Representatives from MACS and the UNICEF were also present in the inaugural session.
