ECI seeks info on Code violation
Bhopal, Nov 17 (UNI) The Election Commission has sought details from the District Returning Officer (DRO), Gwalior, regarding an alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct during a programme at Gwalior's Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education.
''Further action will be contemplated after complete information is obtained,'' poll-bound Madhya Pradesh's Chief Electoral Officer J S Mathur told mediapersons here this evening.
A report from Gwalior said that Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Jyotiraditya Scindia and LNIPE Vice-Chancellor S N Mukherji were present during Friday's inauguration of a two-day Weightlifting Championship.
Collector and DRO Akash Tripathi received a complaint about the Code's violation. The State Election Office was instantly informed.
