Cultural Centre in Kurukshetra to promote Haryanvi
Chandigarh, Nov 17 (UNI) A multipurpose cultural centre was being set up at Kurukshetra at a cost of Rs 5.40 crore to promote Haryanvi Art and Culture, Haryana Finance Minister Birender Singh said.
The Finance Minister, while talking to the media persons at IITF-2008, New Delhi last evening, also announced a sum of Rs three lakh from his discretionary fund for the artists who had performed the cultural programme at the Haryna state day celebrations at the trade fair.
The programme, which started with 'Saraswati Vandana'', depicted the accelerate pace of development of Haryana and its progressive policies apart from the folk songs and the famous Haryanvi Raagni presented by singer Pale Ram. Humourist Daryaav Singh also regaled the audience.
