Copter hits cable; BJP leader safe

Jhabua, MP, Nov 17 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former parliamentarian Dilip Singh Bhuria had a providential escape today after the helicopter carrying him almost crashed after its rotor blades came in contact with a high-tension cable just prior to landing at this district's Rambhapur village about 50 km from here.

The two crew members were also safe.

''The pilot displayed presence of mind by instantly distancing the chopper from the cable. The copter is not in flying condition as a blade is damaged. It had taken off from this district's Kundanpur village for Rambhapur,'' Mr Bhuria said over telephone before leaving by road to address poll meetings at other places.
