Bangalore: Pregnant forest official found dead

Bengaluru, Nov 17: A Range Forest Officer allegedly committed suicide by hanging, following a spat with her husband Madhu, also an RFO, over a trivial issue, on Sunday, Nov 17. The couple were residing in MV Layout of Ramamurthynagar.

Reena (26), hailing from Sirsi, was a 2005 batch officer of Karnataka Forest Services, and her husband V Madhu from Anekal, was also from the same batch. The duo were seeing each other for a while and had a registered marriage in February.

They had a traditional marriage three months ago before settling in the city.

The police said that after finding Reena"s body in the bathroom, Madhu rushed her to a private hospital, but she was declared brought dead. "We are interrogating Madhu. According to him, Reena had asked him to stay at home and not go to work. He also said that Reena was angry when he refused to listen to her." police said.

Reena reportedly locked the bathroom and hung herself from a towel hanger loop, using her dupatta.

Madhu has been detained by the Ramamurthynagar police. "It is strange as to how a towel holder loop can bear the weight of a well-built woman. The couple were residing by themselves, so we had to detain her husband for further inquiry." A case was registered at Ramamurthynagar police station.
