Atrocities against tribal declines in MP: Kulaste
Bhopal, Nov 17 (UNI) Former union minister and BJP Madhya Pradesh unit General Secretary Faggan Singh Kulaste today said that despite decline in the atrocities against tribal in the state, the opposition parties have been levellling false allegations to derive political mileage.
Citing National Crime Record Bureau statistics, Mr Kulaste claimed in a release that a total of 1,501 cases of atrocities against tribal were registered in 1993. It constituted 41 per cent of the 3,652 cases record across the country.
Similarly, the state recorded 1,845 cases against national total of 4,190 in 2000.
After the BJP came to power, cases of atrocities declined by 30 per cent with a total of 1,667 cases reported in Madhya Pradesh as compared to 5,535 cases reported across the country in 2004, he added.
