Retired person duped of Rs 11 lakh
Pune, Nov 16 (UNI) A case of cheating has been registered here against six unidentified people, who duped a retired person, Mukund Deshpande, of Rs 11 Lakh on the pretext of getting a higher interest rate.
Police today said the accused approached Deshpande at his Kothrud residence on Aug 13 by claiming to be a member of reputed investment company 'Gold friends club'' and lured him with a twenty percent interest rate on deposits.
They told Deshpande to deposit the money in different accounts in branches of ICICI bank.
Deshpande registered the case of cheating at Kothrud Police station and Police are making further investigations.
Meanwhile, The Yerawada Police have registered a case against five unidentified persons, who allegedly entered the CST canteen, located at the campus of Lohegaon Air Force and tried to break the canteen lockers.
