Haryana Bijli Nigam to improve power supply in Jind distt

Chandigarh, Nov 16 (UNI) Under a Rs 20.75 crore project being implemented under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojna, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) is segregating domestic and tubewell load of 60 feeders of 11 KV each supplying electricity to rural areas in district Jind.

The project aims at ensuring power supply to the consumers for an enhanced duration daily.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Nigam said that more than 80 per cent of the segregation work had been completed on 31 feeders and work was in progress on 29 other feeders.

He said that the Nigam had identified 73 feeders for segregation of load. Electricity consumers of more than 40 villages have been benefited by way of reliable power supply with better voltage.

He said that the Haryana Power Utilities had spent about Rs 120 crore in the district to strengthen the transmission and distribution system during last three years.It has been planned to spend Rs 70 crore to improve the network during next 18 months, he added.

While referring to power supply through high voltage distribution system and aerial bunched cable based system, he said that the work has been completed in 37 villages and 12 residential colonies of the towns in the district in the first phase.
