K'taka: SWR introduces special trains to clear rush

Bangalore, Nov 15: The South Western Railways(SWR) has introduced special trains between Guwahati and Yesvantpur in order to clear extra rush of passengers.

A SWR release said here today that Guwahati-Yesvantpur weekly special will leave Guwahati at 0630 hrs on Saturdays and arrive at Yesvantpur at 1210 hrs on Mondays.

The first service from Guwahati will commence on November 15 and the last on November 27.

In the return direction, Yesvantpur-Guwahati weekly special will leave Yesvantpur at 2355 hrs on Mondays and arrive Guwahati at 0755 hrs on Thursdays.

The first service from Yesvantpur will commence from November 17 and the last service will be on November 29.

The train will run from Guwahati via Kamakhya, Rangiya, Barpeta Road, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurdwar, New Coochbihar, Dhupguri, New Jalpaiguri, Krishnganj, Barsol, Malda Town, Rampurhat, Bolpur, Howrah, Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jaipur Keonjhar Road, Bhubaneshwar, Khurda Road, Balagaon, Brahmapur, Palasa, Srikakulam Road, Vizianagaram, Duvvada, Rajahmundry, Viajayawada, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, Chennai Central, Katpadi, Jolarpettai and Krishnarajapuram to reach Yesvantpur.

The trains will have a composition of One two-tier AC coach, One three-tier AC coach, Ten three-tier second class sleeper coaches, Two general second class coaches, One pantry car and Two second class-cum luggage vans.
