Nuke deal to be a landmark
Tosham, Nov 15 (UNI) Foreign Minister Parnab Mukharjee today said that Nuclear deal would be a landmark in the history of the country as 50,000 additional megawatt of power would be available within next 10 years.
Mr Mukharjee, while addressing a mammoth memorial rally, to mark 62th birthday of late former Minister Surender Singh here, said that during the next 10 years power sortage would be about four lakh megawatt and Nuke deal was the only solution.
Claiming that the opposition parties were levelling false allegations about the deal, Mr Mukherjee said they had failed to understand the importance of the deal which had been endorsed unanimously by 45 countries, including America, Russia, England, Franch and China.
Mr Mukharjee said that Centre Government had formulated a number of welfare schemes for the welfare of all sections of the society and appealed to the people to provide unstinted cooperation to the party as they had done earlier.
While paying his rich tribute to Surender Singh, who died in an air crash said that Congress chief Sonia Gandhi had said in a Jind rally about four year ago that Surender Singh would go a long way in politics.
Mr Mukherjee also hailed Surinder Singh's father, the former chief minister of Haryana Bansi Lal, as architect of Haryana. He recalled that then prime minister ndira Ghandi had directed the Chief Minister's of Congress ruled State that they should follow the example of Haryana in rural electrification and road connectivity.
The foreign Minister unveiled statues of Surender Singh at four places in Tosham and released a souvenir publised by Surender Memorial club.
