Lt Col Purohit's custody extended till Nov 18
Nashik, Nov 15 (UNI) A local court today extended the police custody of Lt Col Prasad Purohit, an accused in the September 29 Malegaon bomb blast, till November 18.
After being produced before the District and Sessions Court here, Justice H K Ganatra (fourth joint civil judge senior division) extended Purohit's remand by three days, after the ATS demanded his custody for further investigation.
The court, however, rejected an application filed by Purohit's relative demanding medical examination of the accused. In the application, it was submitted that Purohit was physically tortured in the ATS custody, therefore, he should be medically examined by a panel of five-member doctor.
