Local Congress leader murdered by neighbour

Kapurthala, Nov 15 (UNI) A local Congress leader and social activist was murdered by his neighbour Amrik Singh at village Saidowal near here last night.

According to police, the accused Amrik Singh, in a drunken state, picked up a quarrel with Congress leader Tarlochan Singh Waraich, and began hurling abuses at him.

When Tarlochan strongly objected, Amrik allegedly hit his head with a heavy brick resulting in his death on the spot.

Police has registered a murder case under section 302 IPC.
