Fishermen abstain from fishing
Pudukkottai, Nov 15 (UNI) More than 1000 fishermen of Kottaipatnam and Jagadhapatnam fishermen hamlets of Pudukkottai district of Tamil Nadu did not venture into the sea today, owing to the unusually rough sea.
According to sources in fisheries department, normally 230 mechanised boats, each carrying four fishermen from Kottaipatnam and another 180 mechanised boats from Jagadhapatnam, venture into the sea every day. But due to the rough sea, the department did not issue tokens to the fishermen today.
Following this, the fishemen of these two hamlets did not put out to sea, the sources added.
