Cops solve burglaries in Karnataka temples

Mysore, Nov 15 (UNI) The Mysore District Police solved a series of temple burglaries in the region, including the historic Yoga Narasimha Swami temple at Melkote.

Speaking to newspersons here today, District Superintendent of Police Ramasubbu said four people were arrested in connection with thelft and efforts were on to trace four more people. Gold ornaments worth Rs 5.6 lakh were recovered from the accused, he added.

They were identified as Kumar, Muniyappa, Devaraju and Krishna.

Mr Ramasubbu said the gang was nabbed when they were moving suspiciously near Gunja Narasimhaswami temple at T Narasipura last night.

The accused had confessed to hatching a conspiracy to burgle the Gunja Narasimaswami temple and also admitted their involvement in the dacoity of various temples in Mysore and Mandya district.
