Truck driver burnt allive

Bilaspur, Nov 14 (UNI) A truck driver was burnt alive when the vehicle caught fire at Beltara village at Benaras Highway, about 35 km from here, police said today.

The tendupatta-laden truck had a collision with tanker coming from opposite direction last night. The truck driver was caught between steering wheel and burnt alive.

Fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the flames. Truck conductor was pulled out from truck by villagers and police. He was admitted to hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.

Traffic was affected due to the road mishap. Normal traffic was restored this morning. The deceased and injured were yet to be identified.

Tanker driver and conductor were absconding.
