Rijiju leaves for Asia 21 Summit in Tokyo
Itanagar, Nov 14 (UNI) Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal Pradesh Kiren Rijiju has been selected as one of the top 200 iconic youth leaders from Asia-Pacific and the US to participate in the Asia 21 Young Leaders Summit scheduled to be held at Tokyo from today.
Rijiju, who left for Tokyo on Wednesday to attend the six-day summit, has donned the mantle of a top rung leader as he had shown the youths the way with his brand of 'craftsmanship' in politics.
The summit billed as the leading leadership development programme in the Asia-Pacific is aimed at exploring innovative ways to address the most critical issues facing the Asia-Pacific community today, develop common approaches to address the challenges and nurture long term relationship required for building up the responses, official sources said today.
As part of developing new ideas for achieving a stronger Asia-Pacific community, the summit would be followed by a continuous engagement among the delegates through a dedicated web space, local Asia 21 chapters and coordinated public service projects.
The top 200 invitees enlist leading figures from the field of politics, business, media, art&culture, academics and civil society.
The summit would be attended by Singapore President S R Nathan, former Korean Premier Han Myeong Sook and former Korean President Kim Dae Jung among others, sources added.
