MIP carrying tri-colour huled into Moon's surface
Bangalore, Nov 13 (UNI) Heralding a new chapter in India's space technological prowess, ISRO's unmanned moon voyager Chandrayaan-1 sent down the 'Moon Impact Probe' (MIP), carrying the country's National Flag, on to the lunar surface tonight.
The mission was successful at 2034 hrs, ISRO spokesperson K Satish Said.
The 29 kg instrument, one of the eleven payloads, has three instruments like mass spectrometer, a C-band altimeter and a video camera.
Former President A P J Abdul Kalam, a galaxy of Scientists including ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair present exchanged greetings after success of the mission.
