ICAI President Ved Jain now member of IFAC
New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) Mr Ved Jain, President of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has been appointed member on the board of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) for a three-year term with effect from yesterday.
The announcement was made during the two-day IFAC Council meeting, held at Rome in Italy from November 12.
Mr Jain took over as ICAI President on February 5 last.
The institute is celebrating its diamond jubilee this year.
ICAI, a member of IFAC, is a global organisation for the accountancy profession having 138 members and 20 associates in 123 countries and jurisdictions to protect the public interest by encouraging high quality practices by the world's accountants.
IFAC members and associates are primarily national professional accountancy bodies, representing 2.5 million accountants.
