HP urges Centre for more DTH sets
Shimla, Nov 14 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has requested the Centre to sanction a package of Direct To Home (DTH) sets for the state on the pattern of north-eastern states keeping in view the similar topography of Himacal.
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that he had requested Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to sanction 20,000 more DTH sets alongwith colour TVs on the pattern of north-eastern states.
"Himachal has so far received as many as twenty thousand DTH Receive Systems for installation in the tribal areas of the state.
However, there is still a huge demand for additional DTH sets alongwith requisite number of colour television sets in the tribal areas," Mr Dhumal said.
