Case of poll code violation registered

Jabalpur, Nov 14 (UNI) A case of violation of model code of conduct has been registered against two people in connection with printing of photographs of BSP candidate from Jabalpur West along with that of deities in election campaign material.

District Returning Officer Hariranjan Rao said police had been ordered to inquire into a complaint about the photograph of BSP candidate Aziz Qureshi being published along with that of deities.

In a raid at a room in a hotel yesterday, police seized election material including 300 calendars. The calendars had photographs of the candidate along with that of Lord Ganesha, Mahavir, Mecca Medina and Azmer Sheriff.

A case of violation of model code of conduct has been registered against BSP worker Shankarlal Choubey and printing press director Ashish Jain regarding poll code violation.
