Brief winter session of TN Assembly adjourned sine die
Chennai, Nov 14 (UNI) The brief winter session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly was adjourned sine die today.
The House, which met on November 10, was in session for four days after the opening day was adjourned without transacting any business, condoling the death of sitting MDMK legislator Veera Ilavarasan.
During the brief session, the House adopted a resolution, urging the Centre to prevail upon the Sri Lankan Government to declare a ceasefire and protect the Tamils there.
The violent clash between two groups of students of Government Law college rocked the House yesterday, leading to the eviction of AIADMK members.
They had demanded the resignation of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, owning moral responsibility for the incident, stating that police remained mute spectators to the brutal clash.
On the last day today, the House passed the first supplementary statement of expenditure for the year 2008-09 and 19 other bills.
